The mascots of the summer olympic

The first unofficial Olympic mascot was 'Smoky', a lively black Scottish terrier who came to the Olympic village during the 10th Olympics (1932) and was anointed by the athletes as a mascot. The dog had dark curly hair, long torso, short paws, protruding ears and rolled up tail. His back was covered by a white cape with the emblem of five Olympic rings and the inscription "Mascot"

The Olympic mascot first appeared in 1968 at the Winter Olympic Games in Grenoble (France). Since then, one or more mascots have been designed for each olympic game. Usually these are animals characteristic of the area. For the first time, the mascot was used on a larger scale in the promotion of the Olympic Games during the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Misha bear appeared not only during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, but also in animated films and official trade products.
